Bodies apart: A non-invasive comparative anatomy study
Year 9
Year 10
Key Competencies:
Making sense of the living world.
Summary:
Investigate the interdependence of living things (including humans) in an ecosystem. Study the similarities and differences between human and non-human bodies in order to understand the life processes in plants and animals, with a consideration of how this knowledge – gained through non-invasive means – relates to the dissection of animals in science classrooms. Students should be able to explain why they may object to vivisection following this lesson.
